Compendium III(Note from Marco: Dear reader, I have had the desire to tell this story for a long time. It has no erotic content and is quite long, although it was the way I managed to get my good friend Nelson to join my team, removing him from a toxic relationship. I hope you will find it enjoyable and interesting.)
A long time ago, I mentioned that my first job here in Australia consisted of working at a mine 120 km west of Broken Hill and 350 km northwest of Adelaide. At the time, Marisol and I were newlyweds living in Adelaide and my twins were gestating in the womb of my beloved thrush.
The climate was horribly hot, as we were located in a desert, mountainous, and remote area with a few scattered towns around us, although the company kept us comfortable in prefabricated houses with sufficient amenities to cater to and entertain the staff during our extended seven-on-seven shifts.
As a new vein and presenting several problems for startup, most of the personnel wandered without fixed functions from one place to another, with nothing concrete to do. In this environment, I arrived, coming from a third-world country to take charge as an extraction site leader.
As you can imagine, I was received with considerable skepticism, since I was the only Spanish speaker assigned to an important position, so neither did I have the respect of the personnel under my command at that time. The only exception was Nelson, who worked in the planning area.
If I could describe Nelson, it would be the image of a Gentle Giant: Not particularly too tall (he must measure around 1.86-1.90 m in height), with a sturdy body that is not fat, nor too muscular. At that time, he had a calm attitude and was quite receptive. We became friends relatively quickly, since we shared an enthusiasm for... Authentic due to engineering, my innate curiosity in any mining process and my 'creative and outside the box' mentality occasionally helped him solve problems or inspired him to do so. Even, he was one of the first to support me when he found out about my relationship with Hannah.
But at that time, my friend was dating a woman named Scarlett. Most of his department colleagues would mock Nelson about his girlfriend, considering her a danger due to her possessive, materialistic, controlling, and treacherous nature. Unlike the rest, I lent an ear to Nelson, listening to his complaints without prejudice.During one of our shifts, Nelson announced that he had made a reservation for a 2-month cruise in the Caribbean with Scarlett, a significant financial investment planned four months in advance. While the rest of the staff was still bothering him about his sentimental relationship, they were happy for Nelson.
However, when Nelson's supposed departure time arrived, I was surprised to see my good friend still working. The rest of the staff bothered Nelson, accusing him of lying about the trip, and he accepted it without protesting. When I asked him privately, Nelson revealed that Scarlett had not only canceled his reservation and flight ticket but had also upgraded her own reservation, allowing her to fly first class to the Caribbean and spend 4 months on the cruise.
Impacted by this revelation, I shared the reality with my team, who already trusted me as their leader. My men, responsible types with families, suggested taking revenge against Scarlett for what she had done to our friend. Some proposed exceeding Scarlett's credit card limit to cause her financial stress, but since Nelson was paying his cards, I told them that this would end up harming him.
During the time I spent at work, my need for revenge remained in my mind. I knew that Nelson was a sincere and honest person who rarely complained, so I kept his name in mind even when I was later transferred to Melbourne.
Years passed. I was already working for Sonia, and the incident with Maddie had just occurred. Under the conditions I gave Edith, my CEO, I would start working from home by finding someone to replace me at the office. Gloria, my secretary, was my first choice.
It seems like a good choice. Sonia commented on Nelson's curriculum when I read it.
-Yes,-I replied, slightly uneasy.-He meets the requirements. What worries me is Scarlett, his partner. She can be a problem.
Sonia's office is spacious and elegant, but its design focuses on efficiency rather than opulence. It has large windows that bathe her in natural light, with a couple of sofas and a central table for meetings with clients, but it also has a modern and robust desk with a latest-generation computer. The walls have some bookshelves and a few modern art pieces, giving the office a professional yet pleasant atmosphere.
Sonia looked at me strangely.
•Why would Scarlett be a problem if we're hiring Nelson?
-Scarlett is manipulative, materialistic, and treacherous. She could bring us unnecessary dramas and complications, especially in corporate events. Unlike my nightingale, who is elegant, sensible, and faithful, Scarlett is the opposite of all that. I worry about the potential chaos she could cause if she mixes with administration or gets involved in Nelson's work life,-I said, looking at her seriously.
Sonia looked annoyed, crossing her arms.
•Then why did you propose her name first if you're not sure about him?
-Because Nelson has talent and great potential. But Scarlett... is a time bomb. I worry that she'll cause problems.
-And what do you want to do, Marco?-she asked, adjusting her glasses as she usually does when analyzing the situation.-It's obvious that you have Nelson in mind for your team, but this problem with Scarlett seems to be bothering you.
-I'm not sure,-I replied uneasily but sincerely.-My intuition tells me that Nelson is the right decision.
Sonia smiled, leaning back amused.
•Your intuition, do you say?-she commented in a mocking tone.-Well, I know where we're going then. Thanks to that, I'm your boss, after all-
From what you and I know, you can do my job just as well.
-Well, you're the one who has patience to deal with managers and arrogant people. – I replied.
•Yes, you're right. – she admitted, satisfied. – So, what's your plan?
I sat back down, since I had her attention.
-Let me find out more about Nelson's situation. Maybe there's a way to separate him from Scarlett without causing problems.
•Okay. I trust your intuition, Marco. Be careful, though, because it could blow up in our face if it goes wrong.
-Okay. I'll start doing discreet research.
•Good. Keep me posted. – she commented, closing the meeting. – Marco?
•Yes?
•We'll get ahead. You always manage to figure things out.
-Thanks, Sonia. I appreciate it.
And I got in touch with my friend. Physically, he looked more worn out and tired. They lived in Mildura, south of Broken Hill. After catching up, I was surprised to see that my friend remained in the same mining job at the same position, despite it being more common for people to be relocated to another mine.
-How's life? How are things going at home? – I asked more cordially.
My friend sighed...
-Everything's fine. – he responded, not very convinced. – It's just that Scarlett spends more time with Erik now.
I looked at him strangely.
-Who is Erik? – I asked, confused.
Nelson's eyes looked desolate.
-Didn't I tell you? – he asked, trying to muster a smile. – When Scarlett came back from the cruise, she brought Erik. She met him in Jamaica and according to her, he was some kind of spiritual guide, teaching her new experiences. When she got back, she explained that she needed help and he was giving her support, do you understand?
Honestly, it hurt to see my friend like that. It was clear that for her, my friend was just a nuisance and only interested in his money. Nelson would never tell me that they no longer slept together and Erik had taken his place in the relationship, since the trip itself took place 4 years ago.
-And do they work? - I asked, already guessing the answer.
My friend smiled sadly...
>Sabes bien que no. – he replied. – Scarlett says it's enough with the money she earns and that she is a housewife. Erik helps her instead.
-Oh, friend, you can't keep living like this! It's killing you! Tell me something, Nelson, do you still love her?
My friend's voice broke and his eyes welled up with tears.
>No, Marco. I no longer love her – he confessed sadly. – But what can I do? She controls everything: our finances, the house, the purchases. I feel trapped.
In those moments, I clenched my teeth in fury, powerless against the situation. My friend was now a shadow of the man I knew, and although I wanted to throw him a lifeline, I knew what that would entail.
-Friend, I called because I want to offer you a job here in Melbourne. It's an excellent opportunity for you and I think you're perfect for the position – I offered, noticing how his eyes lit up at the prospect. – But your situation with Scarlett and Erik... it's a risk.
I felt terrible seeing how he took away the hopes from his languid face, passing to resignation.
>No need to worry, Marco! I understand! – he commented, looking down defeated.
But seeing my friend like that wasn't going with me. I didn't want to fill him with illusions and take them away.
-No, friend! No it's not! – I insisted firmly, although complicated. - Don't give up, friend! Do you want to leave them? Do you trust me?
My friend looked up, hopeful. The spark of my old ally was still shining.
>Yes, I'd like to! – he replied with more conviction. – But how? How can I get out of this problem?
I smiled as I used to do...
-Leave it to me, friend! – I responded more confidently. – I have experience in situations like this and trust me. I won't give up. I'll get you out of there and bring you with me.
My friend wasn't expecting my response. But after buying the house from my avaricious, abusive... unfaithful father-in-law thanks to cunning, was starting to hatch a strategy to achieve it.
My friend couldn't hold back the tears…
>Thanks, Marco! I don't know what I would have done without you! - he said gratefully.
-Relax, friend! Everything will be fine!
And after meeting with Sonia again, we started organizing a plan on paper.
My first priority was that we had to contact a detective agency to find out about Scarlett. We needed to get information about her finances, habits, and anything else we could use.
Sonia, more practical, agreed that we also needed to secure Nelson's finances. If Scarlett was managing his money, we needed to take it away from her hands, so we wove up a new bank account for my friend, one she wasn't aware of.
But our biggest problem was still Scarlett. We needed to deal with her. And it was at that moment that, as always glamorous, Sonia adjusted her glasses…
•Maybe it's time to ask Elena for help. – suggested, smiling maliciously.
I was surprised by Sonia's cunning and creativity. Elena, Sonia's partner, had worked in real estate at some point and could act as an agent. She told me that even though the mine itself provides accommodations for its employees, we could deceive Scarlett, tempting her with a better offer. This way, we could even take part of her savings, which probably Scarlett had hidden.
The detectives were intrigued by my case. Why would a foreigner living in another city be interested in knowing the secrets of a woman he didn't know?
As I went on telling them about my friendship with Nelson and our strategy, the detectives started smiling marvelously and intriguingly. They even asked for an additional session with Sonia to corroborate the truth of my claims.
What would be our surprise that, for the next meeting... from the detectives, an attorney joined us. Sonia and I looked at each other worriedly, but the detectives told us that he was “an external legal consultant”, who would maintain the confidentiality of our operation.
What we didn't know and what both this individual and the detectives would inform us later, was the Achilles' heel in Scarlett's relationship: that she and Nelson never got married.
The attorney explained to us that, thanks to this, if what we were looking to do bordered on the extremes of legality, it would have been much harder to realize had they been married. That legal agreement, which often becomes a difficult burden to bear when it ends in divorce, rewarding the transgressor more often than the affected party. Fortunately, it didn't present a problem for us.
The attorney informed us of the legal resources we could rely on, the possible actions Scarlett could take and the mitigating factors in our favor. However, given the discretion with which the agency worked, the chances of leaving incriminating evidence were quite low, advising us “informally” to continue with our operation.
Then, the detectives offered me a satisfied discount on their services, purely to cover equipment usage, since they had never before attempted to “rescue” those affected by infidelity. I found it curious how we were united in conspiring against a bad woman.
But still, Sonia entrusted me with personally convincing Elena, given our tense relationship.
When we lived in our country and Elena, Sonia, and I were mere officials, Elena was the secretary of our bosses.
It's embarrassing to admit now, but back then, Elena was the boss's slut. The embarrassment is due to the fact that today, Elena has reclaimed herself.
At 39 years old, Elena still holds up quite well. She's a bit taller than my nightingale, at 1.73 meters height. She dyes her hair blonde, leaving a bouffant hairstyle that makes her look like an American housewife from the 50s. Her figure, however, remains attractive: prominent and appealing breasts, a delicious booty, and her small nose gives her a certain Arabic and refined air, similar to Maya.
However, these events occurred 4 years ago, so at 35 years old, it's hard to say if she was more or less attractive than she is now.
That afternoon, we met at a café near Sonia's house. The atmosphere was relaxed, with some customers chatting. When I arrived, I found her sitting in a corner, drinking a cup of coffee. She wore a white muscle shirt and blue athletic pants that highlighted her figure.Hola, Elena. Thanks for joining me.
Oh, hello, Marco. Sonia told me you wanted to talk to me in person. What's going on? – she asked, looking at me a bit apprehensive.
I smiled sadly, knowing that Sonia hadn't said anything...
Yes, I had my reservations. I know I don't get along with you.
She looked at me and let out a sigh, raising an eyebrow.
Oh, it's not that I dislike you, Marco…- she commented disinterestedly. – You know... my previous experiences with executives haven't been the best. Besides, I'm a bit bothered by how close you and Sonia are.
I looked at her surprised.
Do you make me jealous? Do you really?
Yes, Marco, you make me jealous. – She said annoyed. – You're an attractive type, Marco. And it's hard for me to understand why you and Sonia can be such good friends without having sex in between. Sonia is beautiful, sexy... magnetic.
Well, yes. – I acknowledged, embarrassed. – But also, you know that Sonia is incredibly self-sufficient... and although that aspect may be attractive to some, it's not what I'm looking for. Sonia doesn't need me like that.
What? Are you saying she's too independent for you? – She asked annoyed.
In a way, yes. I admire her a lot, but that admiration doesn't translate into romantic feelings... and yes, I won't deny that she flirts with me. But I see her as a good friend. I know it's hard to believe me.
She crossed her arms and looked at me annoyed.
What do you want me to say? You're right. I can't believe your friendship is so pure and innocent without sex in between. And that chivalrous attitude of yours... if I'm being honest, it's annoying.
I don't know what to tell you, Elena. – I tried to defend myself. – But one of the reasons Marisol fascinates me is because she has her own problems and needs. Helping her and supporting her makes me feel useful.
And then she seemed to find peace in my comments...
Then, don't you find Sonia's strength attractive?
Not at all. – I replied sincerely. – But if you're really worried about my relationship with Sonia, your participation in this plan will significantly limit my interactions with her. I'll only see her once a week. The only thing I ask is that you help me get Nelson to replace me, so I can work from home.
But what do you gain by getting Nelson hired? I don't understand... – she asked intrigued.
I smiled sincerely...
-You know I like to return kindness to my friends. Nelson needs this and it's my way of helping him.
She looked at me strangely, but I was able to convince her...
Oh God! I can see why Sonia likes you so much! – she commented in a tone that was both flirtatious and annoyed. - Fine! I accept! But don't make me regret it.
-Thank you, Elena. I promise it will be worth it.
And with all the cards on the table, it was time to take our operation to the next level.
We were racing against the clock. It was the second week of November 2019. Due to contracts and property rental, our idea with Sonia was to complete the operation before the new year.
The first step was to get a legal power of attorney signed by Nelson that temporarily allowed me to manage his finances. Thanks to that, I could transfer my friend's savings, which I had kept in a separate account and couldn't move because of the risk that Scarlett would find them and steal them. I transferred them to a new bank account that my friend didn't know or have access to.
After that, I contacted Nelson and Scarlett through Zoom and got to know her virtually. Scarlett was physically stunning and seductive. Despite being online, she tried to flirt with me across the screen, annoying my friend. Still, I explained both about the job offer, which came with a generous salary increase and the possibility of moving to one of Melbourne's most luxurious neighborhoods. could reach, Scarlett was tempted by the prospect and pressed Nelson to take the job. Satisfied to see that her greed is guiding him, I informed them that Sonia would be in touch with them to discuss the topic more deeply.
It was at this moment when the detective agency sent me the final report on the case. It turned out that Sonia was right and Scarlett had saved a substantial amount of money, which my friend was unaware of. But, on the other hand, they also discovered that Scarlett was not only unfaithful to Nelson with Erik, but also with other lovers.
The detectives informed me that they would continue to monitor us to ensure that I wouldn't run off with Nelson's savings, ready to report me to the authorities if I betrayed his trust. But additionally, they would keep an eye on Scarlett to make sure she couldn't track me once the scam was set up. It was a delicate balance, similar to a mutual destruction agreement that would keep us all under control.
Meanwhile, Elena was preparing a brochure similar to those of a local real estate company, quite convincing, using photos of the house we had in Adelaide, the apartment we had in Melbourne, Sonia's house and the new home Maddie had found on the outskirts of the city. But upon learning the amount of Scarlett's secret funds and leaving an insignificant amount in the shared savings account, I suggested to Elena that she set the values of the reservation payment similar to her savings for Sonia's house and my apartment, intuiting that, due to her greed, she would choose one of those two as her possible residence.
At the same time, Sonia contacted Nelson and Scarlett, detailing even more the responsibilities of Nelson, which include business trips outside the city to different mining sites, as well as attending elegant business galas with investors and suppliers of service and high-ranking executives, an idea that ends up dazzling Scarlett. It is then that I put myself back in touch with my friend, informing him that the amount of money Nelson provided me was not sufficient to secure the payment of the reservation. Convincently, Nelson responded that that was all the money he had (although I had previously moved a large part of his savings from his personal and shared accounts), putting Nelson in a financial position where he cannot accept the job offer. This infuriated Scarlett terribly, seeing her golden opportunity slip through her fingers, forcing her to support Nelson with her own savings. Although she wasn't very happy, I informed them that the real estate agent would be in touch with them to manage the agreement. That day, Elena looked stunning and seductive. The combination of her elegant dress and professional attitude was typical of a real estate agent. We accommodated the company's mining conference room for the meeting through Zoom. After closing the deal convincingly, Scarlett chose the most expensive house (which turned out to be Sonia's) where Elena facilitated a bank account for her to make the deposit.
Once the transaction was made, I moved the money to Nelson's savings account and closed the account given by Elena.
It was then that I contacted my friend again, informing him that we needed him in Melbourne before Christmas to organize the last details of the project and locate him in his new home. Nelson told me this was good news, as his apartment rental expired just after New Year's, which made me smile.
I then sent my friend's flight ticket, lying to Scarlett that I would send hers later in the week. According to what my good friend would tell me later, those days were particularly tense for her because she had to pay Erik's ticket by herself.
Once my friend left the Mildura airspace, I canceled all his credit cards and moved all shared savings accounts to Nelson's new account. From then on, everyone except me blocked Scarlett's contacts.
The week passed, and while Scarlett tried to get in touch with Nelson without much luck, she attempted to locate all the people she had spoken to, eventually reaching me.
It was here that I revealed this was my delayed revenge for what Scarlett did to my friend with her cruise tickets years ago. I told her the job offered by Nelson was real, but we had never considered Scarlett part of it.
Scarlett vainly threatened to report me to the authorities for fraud, and I responded that if she did, I would expose the photos detectives found of her infidelities in social networks and I would then have to deal with Erik. Additionally, since she never married my friend, there was no reason to grant her a pension or financial aid and Nelson had already admitted that he no longer wanted to live with her and Erik. Finally, I informed her that she had until the end of the year to find a new place to live and that Nelson had decided she could stay with the furniture from his old home.
As they can imagine, the parties were quite joyful that year. It was here, at my farewell party, where I took the opportunity to introduce my friend to my former secretary, Gloria. Once again, Oscar, her partner, had a long shift at the hospital and couldn't attend the meeting. I wouldn't know if it was there where they hit it off or if it was months later, during the pandemic, but the fact is that Gloria and I hadn't been intimate for several months and Oscar was an average lover, so it wasn't much to make them stay working late in the privacy of my old office.
But at home, I questioned my actions, contemplating the incriminating images of Scarlett sent by the detectives. My nightingale noticed my worried expression and I confided in her about it, asking if she thought I had acted well. My loving one, always understanding, told me that while what I did was treacherous and perhaps illegal, I was right because Scarlett was a bad woman.
When I saw how much the contents of the envelope were bothering me, Marisol decided to take it from my hands and send it by courier to Scarlett's address, maliciously arguing that they presented a danger if our girls found them in our home.
This way, Scarlett would start a new year quite intense...Next post
