A pop singer from Nigeria offered her virginity to the terrorist group Boko Haram in exchange for the liberation of almost 300 girls they kidnapped last April.
After learning that the hostages were being raped by the terrorists, 23-year-old Adokiye Kyrian declared on a TV program: 'It's very unfair. They're too young. I'd like to offer myself instead. I'm more adult and experienced. Even if they have to use me for 10 to 12 men every night, it doesn't matter. Free the girls and return them to their parents.'
So far, there has been no response from Boko Haram; however, the Nigerian singer's statements generated a wave of comments on social media.
While some applaud Adokiye Kyrian's offer as another attempt to get the young girls back with their families, others claim it's just a strategy by the singer to gain attention and even doubt that the young woman is a virgin due to her suggestive photos.
On April 14 last year, over 250 girls were kidnapped from a public high school in the Nigerian town of Chibok by Boko Haram. At least 20 young women managed to escape their captors. This week, it was reported that Boko Haram had kidnapped another 90 people, including women, girls, and children.
