Good before anything I wanted to dedicate my first post to 'THEM'
But of course it's very difficult to make a film for women since they don't even know what they want...
Well everything started when I saw a discussion on a forum that began with a comment from a girl saying: when will the day come when they make a movie for us. And another user replied that there are movies for GAY.
Then I thought it would be good to post something on P! about the topic of Porn For Them. And all I found was about the director Erika Lust activist of new sexual rights for women, journalist, and audiovisual producer. She graduated in Political Sciences and specialized in feminism.
I participated in a debate about woman and pornography at the last Berlin PornFilmFestival along with other female filmmakers, and as usual when we talk about sex, porn, feminism, porn for women and women who are not all in total agreement on all issues. I think it's great to see new women entering the adult industry and showing their viewpoints behind the cameras as creators, directors, and producers. These women should be able to express their sexuality without limits, just like men have been doing for centuries.
But it's a shame that some women waste their time and energy tearing down the work of other women instead of focusing on training different approaches and viewpoints. It's not the first time and won't be the last time that a woman disapproves of how other women gain power and voice in a world still dominated by men. This new female pornography is not like the pro-feminist anti-sex-porn feminist war, now it's about what is considered... Sexual relations in exchange for a feminist... (there's something like a 'right' and the wrong sex, the sex?)
After the debate, Petra Joy, a female porn producer, wrote on her blog:
I think any woman filmmaker has the right to show what she wants in her films, but we must be cautious with our content if we intend to make feminist pornography. I want women's autonomy and that's why I prefer to focus on women who received pleasure instead of simply giving, and I also prefer to show orgasms in different ways, such as showing the lover's face, instead of ending each scene with a man's cum-shot on the woman's body. If films are made and called 'women friends' or 'feminist' but the sexual content is still mainly focused on male pleasure and a commercial success formula, then the powerful words should have a very deep meaning and have been mocked as a marketing trick. Feminism is committed to gender equality, so 'feminist pornography' should show women as equals to men, rather than subordinate beings. A woman's head, a woman being whipped by a man, a type of cum shot that shows a woman in control could be 'feminist pornography'. If you want to show cum on a woman's face, it's fine, but don't call it feminist.
Isn't it funny? We have a new fundamentalist movement here: the Church of Pure Feminist Porn producers, and they declare certain sexual practices that I and other women around the world enjoy are a sin, and should be expelled from their pure circle. Well, do you want to know what? I don't want to be part of a club that tells me what's right in my bedroom or portrait. In my movies, because the last time I checked that's what they call censorship.
Ehh, it makes me do all kinds of feminism wants to leave being and a human being, for me this is the objective of feminism anyway. However, 'being a feminist' to me is as obvious as black and white that people should have the same rights.
I don't think the word 'feminist' can be applied to sexual practices. That's like saying blue is a red color and feminist isn't feminist or fish but not meat. According to Petra, vibrators are feminist to aspire but not to suck cocks? And if there's a man on stage, his ass must be screwed - a man with a screwed ass is feminist, but a woman with a screwed ass isn't?
I consider myself a feminist regardless of my sexual activities. I believe feminism is the equality of sexes, women have the same rights and possibilities as men, women should have the right to be seen as human beings first and not defined by what's supposed to be feminine. For me 'feminist porn' is porn that shows real women and men having real sex, not just obedient women in classical power structures, not just objectified women, not just women who give pleasure but also receive it. It's a matter of not falling into the stereotype that most film characters are prostitutes and not all women have to be and not all men gangsters. For me feminist porn should represent women's fantasies and desires - all of them. I know for sure that a woman can be a great feminist and still want to be taken firmly by a man or a man who enjoys blowing his cock, or with cum on her whole face.
