Marilyn Monroe supposedly starred in a pornographic film in 1948. The original film (16 mm, black and white, 7 minutes long at 24 frames per second) was discovered by a Swedish photographer in 1980. According to declassified FBI documents, in 1965, three years after the actress's death, baseball star Joe DiMaggio arrived at offering $25,000 for this film, as it was then the only existing copy, but the owner rejected the offer. The actress had been married to this athlete in 1954, lasting only nine months. Another copy of the film appeared later at a Spanish collectors' meeting, being studied by the American Film Institute in 1996 to verify if it really was Marilyn. The English Wikipedia has classified the recording in the section of Rumored and disputed. Whatever the case, the Hollywood Erotic Museum bought a copy of the film and shows it in its permanent collection about the actress.
