The Kama Sutra, from the transcription Kāma Sūtra, is an ancient Hindu text that deals with human sexual behavior. Considered as the basic work on love in Sanskrit literature. Written by Vatsyayana. The complete title is Vātsyāyana Kāma-sūtra ('Vatsyayana's aphorisms on sexuality'). Chronologically, the author situates between the first and sixth centuries, probably during the Gupta period.
Over the years, various versions have been published. Originally, any of the versions with illustrations, whether in context or on the cover, were hand-drawn; currently, there are versions with real photographic illustrations and educational erotic videos.
