The Justice of the City of Buenos Aires incorporated a system from the United States to track users related to cases of child sexual exploitation. It is about the Child Protection System (CPS) of the Child Rescue Coalition, which has global presence for cases of child molestation.
The Buenos Aires Justice arrives at having access to this system starting from an agreement signed this Tuesday by the Attorney General of the City, Juan Bautista Mahiques, and the US Ambassador, Marc Stanley, in the diplomat's residence in Argentina, where they agreed on the terms of use of CPS.

We are pleased to announce that from today on, the Public Prosecutor's Office of the City will have access to one of the most important platforms in the world that allows us to obtain data to generate complex reports identifying users related to the sexual exploitation of children, girls and adolescents, Mahiques said at the end of the meeting.
From the MPF it was highlighted that this is not the first agreement reached between the American ambassador and the prosecutor of the porteños. In this context, they recalled that time ago a economic support from the United States was achieved to face projects that fight against child sexual exploitation.

In total, 9 International Operations have been coordinated simultaneously with 11 countries (USA, Mexico, Chile, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Peru, Paraguay, Ecuador, Panama), 194 people were detained for the trafficking of sexual abuse images, and all national and provincial security forces were supported: Naval Prefecture, National Gendarmerie, Federal Police, City Police, Bonaerense Police, and police from different provinces, as well as the judicial investigators' own body with which the Public Prosecutor's Office of the City (Judicial Investigations Corps - CIJ) counts, emphasized by the Port Justice.

Between January 2023 and February 2024, the City's cybercrime prosecution offices received over 108,000 reports of child sexual abuse. This represents a monthly average of 8,314 reports and nearly 280 daily cases. These data primarily come from National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC)from the United States, thanks to an information exchange agreement. Additionally, allegations from NGOs and citizens from both Buenos Aires City and the rest of the country are added.
Facing the increase in cases, Mahiques set up in 2020 the creation of the Specialized Fiscal Unit for Cybercrimes and Informatic Offenses (UFEDYCI), led by Dupuy. Three years later, specialization in Cybercrimes and Informatic Offenses was granted to Prosecutor's Office No. 17, whose head is Tomás Vaccarezza.
After celebrating the agreement with Ambassador Stanley, from MPF we recalled the procedure for presenting complaints. Whether via web, email or phone, the system is available 24/7, 365 days a year. This Tuesday, the Argentine Federal Police, in an operation that counted on collaboration from the FBI, arrested the leader of a criminal organization that commercialized child abuse and sexual exploitation material.
Cyberinvestigators from the Division of Cyber Crimes Against Childhood and Adolescence of the force perform a continuous monitoring on social networks to detect sexual exploitation material traffic. In this case, joint investigations were conducted with the Federal Bureau of Investigations of the United States, which revealed the existence of a user who sold explicit images of minors to several countries in exchange for an economic benefit in dollars. The subject used the Telegram application and investigators determined that it operated from the Buenos Aires conurbation, in La Tablada locality, La Matanza district.
