Treats people: Launch awareness campaign for truckers
The Foundation headed by Susana Trimarco, mother of the missing Marita Verón, signed an agreement with the Argentine Federation of Entrepreneurial Entities of Cargo Transport. Half a million truck drivers will be trained on the issue. The goal is 'to help truckers identify the crime and thus encourage denunciations from these privileged witnesses'.
The María de los Angeles Foundation and The Meeting House, associations that work in assisting victims of the crime, will lend their collaboration to an initiative that will include mandatory training courses for over half a million truckers across the country.
During the encounter, the video The routes of human trafficking, produced by the María de los Ángeles Foundation, which is presided over by Susana Trimarco, mother of Marita Verón, the young woman from Tucumán who has been missing since April 2002, will be projected. All truckers affiliated with the Argentine Federation of Entrepreneurial Entities of Cargo Transport (FADEEAC) will receive their training. It is expected to reach half a million workers. The organization emphasized that routes are an unavoidable place for the transfer of human trafficking victims. Therefore, it highlighted, the goal of the campaign is to help truckers identify the crime and encourage thus the denunciations of these privileged witnesses who travel through the routes of the whole country and their testimony is invaluable in combating this plague.
The Ministry of Justice of the Nation also made known in the last hours, through a spot broadcast during Football for All transmissions, a video recounting the problematic issue of human trafficking.
This video was realized in mid-2012 by the María de los Ángeles Foundation with the aim of sensitizing truck drivers to the issue of human trafficking, through a partnership agreement with the Argentine Federation of Cargo Transport Business Entities (FADEEAC) whereby they will train over 330,000 drivers per year.
