These last few days online accommodation services have been the main objective of the FBI and anti-piracy organizations, so many hosting portals have declined their services and in less severe cases have removed over 30% of their content since they were intellectual property files.
Mediafire is one of the most 'decent' accommodations right now, however today it presented something that could change the direction of the portal. It seems that when a user tries to access the download portal from Google, Mediafire will show an error message with a temporary message:
The indexed link is unavailable.
The link was indexed and is currently in the process of being de-indexed and cannot be accessed.
This seems to be a protected measure by Mediafire to avoid a similar future to MegaUpload, remembering that illegal content also usually resides on its portal and is possibly still being eliminated, so the company doesn't want to take any risks.
It's important to comment that even when the link seems 'lost', it isn't. If the user copies the link presented in Google and subsequently pastes it into their navigation bar, the file will be visible and the user will be able to download the file.
In case otherwise, if the user visits the link directly from Google they will find the new error.
