The chambeadoras is one of the many underground Mexican erotic comic book publications, some of whose titles reached print runs of over a million and a half copies. The drawing usually reflects voluptuous and almost impossible-to-find anatomies in reality and themes include anecdotes from Mexican political surrealism and events of the era.

Probably due to Mexico's social and moral values and inherited puritanism resulting from centuries of Catholic influence, they rarely contain explicit sex and writers make real wordplay with language to suggest all kinds of swear words.

They were extremely popular and relatively easy to find and read (despite their adult comic book classification), in barber shops, diners or taco restaurants.
