Celedonio Perellón, 1926 – 2015. was a captivatingly perfect artist - in the words of Camilo José Cela - dangerously and sweetly perfect, cruelly perfect. He has no artistic relatives nor in museums nor in life, because his painting is the same life plunged into a hieratic and also emotional aura of poetry, and this can only be said of one out of a thousand painters.
He was born in Madrid in 1926. His affinity for art awakened in his father's bookbinding workshop, and although he crossed through the classrooms of the School of Arts and Crafts of Madrid and the Higher School of Fine Arts of San Fernando, he considers himself an autodidact.
Perellón is an exceptional draftsman and painter with an unmistakable personality, has made the female nude the eternal landscape of his work. A living, changing, ironic, lusty, unsettling, erotic, timid, and pornographic landscape, serene and violent, on which his talent as a draftsman and painter creates, under the pretext of feminine architecture, a personal world of dreams and symbols, full of surreal roots and whispered poems in a low voice. In his most recent work, a progressive process of synthesis and abstraction is evident.
