The 31st of August 2014 hacked photos were published on the 4chan website, which were taken through an iCloud exploit where iPhone photos synchronize automatically. In other words, while famous people thought their phone photos remained in the intimacy of their telephone, technology played a bad trick on them... haha... and they fell into hackers' hands!!!
The photographs were sold for bitcoin (electronic currency used in the deep web)
The authenticity of the photos was confirmed by some celebrities due to the clarity of the same, while others like Victoria Justice denied outright that the photos even existed.
On September 21st, 2014, the hacker published a second batch of photos and videos on the medium. This sequel became known as The Fappening 2: The Rebellion of Leaks.
