Dolores Fonzi was born on July 19, 1978 in Adrogué, Buenos Aires. She is the older sister of also actor Tomás Fonzi.

He was girlfriend for many years of Argentine film director Luis Ortega. She was also girlfriend of musician Joaquín Levinton.
Since 2008 she is a partner of the Mexican actor Gael García Bernal, with whom she has two children; Lázaro born on January 8th, 2009 in Madrid, and Libertad born on April 7th, 2011 in Buenos Aires.
