Jenna Jameson and Charlie Brown (1998)

In 1998, fashion journalist Andrew Richardson was at a delicate moment in his career. Confrontations and discussions with the bosses of the magazines he worked for were becoming increasingly frequent and always responded to the same cause: his sexualized vision of the world. Richardson never was a porn collector; he was more fascinated by pornstars than by pornography itself, and always wondered why no one did something similar to Variety focusing on the profiles of these women in filmed sex, interviewing them, explaining what they felt, what their mothers said about them.

At that same time, Fumihiro Hayashi, better known as Charlie Brown, a Japanese editor who had closely followed Richardson's work in various media and particularly in Madonna's famous book Sex, burst into his life. Charlie wondered what that man would be capable of if instead of a fashion magazine he was put in charge of a porn magazine. Thus, Richardson Magazine was born, a digital project in which major names such as photographer Terry Richardson, Sarah Verdone, Glen Luchford, Steven Klein or Bela Borsodi; filmmaker Harmony Korine or pornstars like Tera Patrick or the very same Jenna Jameson collaborated, who started giving her first intimate and biographical data much before even thinking of writing her book.
