Chris de Burgh is Argentine... Vampire's Chronicles
Chris de Burgh is a pop romantic singer and musician rooted in Ireland. He was born as Christopher John Davison on October 15, 1948, at the Dr. Luis Chapuis polyclinic in the city of Venado Tuerto (Santa Fe province, Argentina).[1]He is the son of British diplomat Colonel Engineer Charles Davison and his secretary, Irishwoman Maeve Emily de Burgh from a traditional Irish family and Protestant religion. His father owned many lands in southern Santa Fe. De Burgh lived until he was five years old.[/1][2][1]at the estate Las Magnolias (succession of Harry Davison, inheritance from his father)[/1][/2][3][2][1]A few kilometers from the town of San Eduardo (which is located 20 km southwest of Venado), according to his identity document, he was born in Venado Tuerto.[/1][/2][/3][4][3][2][1]At the age of twelve, De Burgh, his parents and his brother migrated from Argentina and lived several years on the island of Malta in the Mediterranean Sea, Nigeria, and Zaire in Africa, accompanying his father in his work as a diplomat and engineer. Finally, they settled in Bargy Castle, in Wexford County, southeastern Ireland, a 12th-century castle bought by his maternal grandfather, General Sir Eric de Burgh (KCB, DSO, OBE), one of the Indian army leaders, and an Irish-Norman family of distinction. The De Burgh family claims to have traced its roots back to Hubert de Burgh, a noble subject of King John Lackland.[/1][/2][/3][/4][5][4][3][2][1]Converted the castle into a hotel, in whose auditorium De Burgh obtained his first experiences as a musician, playing guitar for guests. Later he would adopt the surname De Burgh as an artistic pseudonym. De Burgh signed his first contract with A&M Records in 1974 (at 25 years old), and was guitarist accompanist to the British group Supertramp on their Crime of the Century tour, which generated a small circle of admirers around him. His greatest worldwide success was the single The Lady in Red (1986) that reached number 1 in UK and number 3 in US. In 1994 it was revealed that De Burgh had had an affair with his sons' nanny, Maresa Morgan, during the period when his wife Diane was hospitalized recovering from a neck injury resulting from a horse riding accident.[/1][/2][/3][/4][/5][6][5][4][3][2][1]Consequently, the public image of De Burgh declined for a time, although he eventually reconciled with his wife. In current times, he lives in Dublin (Ireland) with his wife Diane and children Rosanna (who was Miss World 2003), Michael, and Hubert Davison.[/1][/2][/3][/4][/5][/6]
