Pseudonym of British cartoonist and illustrator Robin Ray, allegedly born in London in 1924.
He studied Fine Arts and apart from working as a painter, book illustrator, advertising illustrator, and comic strip artist, he eventually stood out for his erotic comic works, specifically sadomasochistic pornography, popularized during the eighties.
Interested in erotica, he published comics and illustrations of this type in the British magazine Torrid during the seventies and eighties, where he also used the pseudonym Paula Meadows. Other pseudonyms used by him were Baldur Grimm, Janssens, Robbins, and fundamentally, Erich von Gotha de la Rosière, with whom he signed most of his works featuring scenes extracted from the imagery of the Marquis de Sade, his reference figure: not only did he use sadomasochism as a thread throughout all the arguments he worked on, but also used eighteenth-century contexts in most of his works.
